San Francisco Board of Education President Norman Yee announced his plans to run in November for supervisor in District 7. Incumbent Sean Elsbernd’s term will end by this end of this year.
Norman Yee has been on the school board for 8 years and feels he completed what he set out to do when he ran for the board 8 years ago. ” I feel like that school district is on the right direction, our test scores has been going up, the achievement gap has been reduced, our enrollment for kindergarten for the last two years has been increased, so it’s been positive. I feel it’s time for me to let go of the sitiution and give other people the opportunity to bring new ideas,” he said.
